Chinese Storytime (in Mandarin) at Mount Waverley. 3rd Thursday of the month at 10.30am except for school holidays. Thursdays Feb 16, Mar 22, May 17, Jun 21, Jul 19, Aug 16, Sep 20, Oct 18, and Nov 15. Not run in school holidays. Sessions run for 45 minutes. No booking required.

Chinese Storytime (in Mandarin) at Clayton. 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at 1.15pm except for school holidays. Mondays Feb 6 and 20, March 5 and19, April 16, May 7 and 21, June 4 and 18. Not run in school holidays. Sessions run for 45 minutes. No booking required.

Greek Storytime at Oakleigh. The sessions run the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month except for school holidays. 10.30 am. Sessions run for 45 minutes. No booking required.

Blast Off! 2012

A fun, free monthly story and craft activity for primary school children aged 5-12. Four branches host Blast Off ! at 4 pm on a selected day. The program runs in school terms, as listed below.

Clayton - 4th Tuesday: Feb 28, Mar 27, Apr 24, May 22, Jun 26, Jul 24, Aug 28, Sep 25, Oct 23, Nov 27

Glen Waverley - 1st Monday: Feb 6, Mar 5, Apr 2, May 7, Jun 4, Aug 6, Sep 3, Oct 1 and Nov 5.

Mount Waverley - 2nd Thursday : Feb 9, Mar 8, Apr 12, May 10, Jun 14, Jul 12, Aug 9, Sep 13, Oct 11, and Nov 8.

Wheelers Hill - 3rd Thursday: Feb 16, Mar 15, Apr 19, May 17, Jun 21, Jul 19, Aug 16, Sep 20, Oct 18, and Nov 15

School Holiday Activities

School holiday activities are run within the Libraries at each school holiday break. Details are available on this site and from the libraries at the approach of each holiday period.

Other holiday programs are run in conjunction with the City of Monash. Brochures for these are available in the Libraries and at the council office before each holiday period.

Join the Clayton Homework Club for secondary school students.

Need help with your homework? Need a place to work with fewer distractions? Join the Clayton Homework Club. Volunteers are available to encourage and support you with your homework, during term time, at Clayton Library.

When? Tuesday 4:30pm-6:30pm and Thursday 6pm-8pm from 21 February 2012.

Monash Short Story Competition

The 2012 competition will be launched on 31 May 2012 after which date the entry forms will be available online and in library branches. Go to the Wordfest 2012 pages for more details.

There are 3 categories (12-14 years; 15-17 years; and adult. Prizes of up to $500 are awarded each year.

Wordfest 2012 and Short Story Competition

Knitting Groups 2012

Like a good yarn? ... and knitting too?

Bring along your knitting and meet with fellow enthusiasts. Anyone can join in, regardless of level of skill and experience.

Please call the relevant branch to check the sessions for 2012. Sessions will last 60 to 90 minutes. No booking required.

Conversation Circles 2012

Practise your English at our weekly Conversation Circles with the help of experienced volunteers. It's also a great opportunity to meet other people from your local area. Come in for a chat.

Internet Sessions and Tutoring

Group classes are held from time to time and will be announced on our events pages. Seniors classes will run again in July 2012 with bookings taken from 25 June 2012.

Individual classes can be arranged by contacting your local branch. The fee for a one-on-one session, tailored to suit you, is $43.50

Payment must be made within 24 hours of booking. Please phone the branch where the session is to be held to make a booking. Pay at any branch within 24 hours
