The Monash Federation Centre is the new home of the Oakleigh & District Historical Society and the Monash Public Library Service's local history collections.
It is located in the historic precinct in Warrawee Park adjoining the Oakleigh Cemetery. A 1920's style band rotunda has been built nearby. The heritage development of the site is part of a continuing process begun in 1993.
The Centre is staffed by Monash Public Library Service and is open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm. The library's local history collection is on open access and consists of books, bound newspapers, and microfiches.
For access to the Oakleigh & District Historical Society's collections, telephone the Centre on Tuesday or Thursday on 9563 2823 or email mfc@monlib.vic.gov.au, to arrange an appointment.
