Access Your Card link not opening?
"Page cannot be displayed" message?
You may need to change your settings to allow the "Access Your Card" popup window to open.

Windows XP users have an automatic popup stopper on Internet Explorer. Microsoft gives advice how to alter settings for the popup feature at this page:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/web/sp2_popupblocker.mspx
(Briefly: on Internet Explorer go to Tools, Popup Blocker and click popup Blocker Settings to find the Allow function)

Library card number not accepted?
If you have checked your PIN in the Library and it's correct and works there, it may be that some settings need checking on your home or work machine. Your firewall may not be allowing our site to receive your details.
All firewall products will have a help link and you can search in this to find out how to enable/disable various features.
Company firewalls may block access at your workplace.
A database won't work?
if you are using the subscription Online Resources from home, your card number must be given in full with no spaces and with capitals letters and numbers exactly as on the card
Program settings may be causing the lack of access. Because you are sending a card number across the internet, your settings for cookies, firewalls, anti-virus, popup stopper products and javascript, may be preventing access. See the notes on firewalls below.
All your firewall and anti-virus products will have a help link and you can search in this to find out how to enable/disable various features. If you wish to disable a personal firewall or anti-virus product, it is generally done by right-clicking on its icon which shows in the bottom of your screen.
If you cannot get into a site and you get a message "Too many concurrent users", please try later. We have licences that limit the number of users at any one time to some of the databases.
Please contact us (see contact details just below) if this information does not solve the problem.

Please read the more detailed advice below first.
1. Firewall or anti-virus blocking your access?
If you are able to enter a card
number and your PIN but then get a "page cannot be displayed"
message, a firewall may be blocking access to the Library site.
If you are using the site from a business, check that a company firewall
is not blocking the Library site.
If you are at home, you may have installed a product such as ZoneAlarm or Norton Security.
If you wish to disable a personal firewall or anti-virus product, it is generally done by right-clicking on its icon which shows in the bottom of your screen. Or you may be able to alter the settings to allow access for the Library site. Since these are security settings, you may or may not wish to disable or alter them. If you wish, seek further advice from the website of the product vendor
2.Turning on javascript and turning off Popup Stoppers for Access Your Card
If you click on Access Your Card and no popup window comes up, it may be that you do not have javascript enabled on your machine. Or you may have installed a popup stopper program.
All products will have a help link and you can search in this to find out how to enable/disable various features.
If you have installed a popup stopper, you will need to disable it before you can use the Access Your Card feature.
Windows XP has an automatic popup stopper. For advice about how to change its settings so as to let our site use a popup, go to the microsoft help page at
