Cinema historian and Drive-in owner David Kilderry will take you back to the golden era of the drive-in theatre, when almost every town
and suburb had a Skyline, Sunset or Twilight drive-in theatre nearby.
The presentation will cover the early boom of the 1950s, the expansion in the 1960s, the “R” rated and exploitation period of the 1970s, and decline of the 1980s. David will also explore the resurgence of drive-ins in the current era.
This presentation will be illustrated with images from David’s large collection.
Presented in conjunction with the Australian Heritage Festival 2018.
