He knew what direction he was going in,

Looking into the class of bright eyes and open minds,

I want to be like them, he’d think;

With wistfulness and sorrow.

It was in this inaugural moment,

That he peeked into the class for the perspicacious,

Every Wednesday morning.

I’ll be the champions of poindexters,

The winner of equations,

A savage amongst the numbers.

I will dictate- these peasants
