flu and covid vaccines

After two years of closed international borders and staying at home, 2022 is expected to be a bad flu season.

As Victorians return to normal levels of activity, it is more important than ever for you to get your flu shot and your recommended COVID-19 vaccinations.

In most cases, you can get your flu shot at the same time as your COVID-19 vaccination, however, note that if you:

  • have had COVID-19 but are no longer sick, you can get your flu shot right away. You should wait three months before getting your next COVID-19 vaccination
  • are sick with the flu, you should wait until you are better again before getting your vaccinations.

You can get your flu shot or COVID vaccination from your pharmacist or doctor.

Some COVID-19 vaccination centres are also offering free flu vaccines to people eligible under the National Immunisation Plan. For details, visit:

If you have further questions about vaccination, the best person to speak with is your doctor.
