Public Libraries will be permitted to reopen to the public from Monday 9 November. Monash Public Library Service will reopen all branches on this date, except Mulgrave which will open the following day.
Visitors to the library will be asked to limit their visit to 30 minutes, and initially no more than 10 customers will be allowed to use the library at any one time. At Mulgrave the limit will be 3. Anyone visiting the library will also be asked to:
- Wear a well fitted face mask, ensuring both their nose and mouth are fully covered
- Keep a distance of 1.5m from other customers whenever possible
- Receive service at the screened service points only
- Provide their name and phone number before entry for the purpose of possible contact tracing
Customers will be able to browse the shelves, collect their own reserved items, use the self-service kiosks, and book time on a PC or wi-fi hotspot.
Opening hours remain slightly shorter than normal but will gradually ease back to their original span by the new year. Please check our website for up to date information.
Opening hours from the week beginning Monday 9 November to Friday 20 November are:
Closed all other days. Reservation pick-up resumes at Mulgrave Library from 10 November.
All other branches
Until we reopen we will continue to offer Click and Collect to all customers who live or work within a 25km radius of any of our libraries, except Mulgrave.
