We’re aware of community concerns around irresponsible driver behaviour along Phoenix and Columbia drives in Wheelers Hill.
This concerns us as we all have a responsibility to take care and follow the road rules, even more so around schools.
We’re currently undertaking speed surveys in Columbia Drive to better understand driver behaviours and the extent of the traffic speed issues. These are being done in the 40km/h and 50km/h speed zones in the street.
A survey along Phoenix Drive will start tomorrow (17 February).
Results of these surveys will inform what traffic management measures (like road humps) we may need to consider to help make the roads safer for residents, and school families and children in the area.
In the meantime, we’ve requested Nunawading Police to patrol the area to encourage drivers to slow down and obey the road rules.
