Construction industry leaders build homes in Monash

Four leading residential construction firms are building a home for themselves in Monash.

Metricon, Carlisle Homes and Henley Homes have established their headquarters in Monash, while Dennis Family Homes has an office and showroom. Henley and Metricon also have display homes in the municipality.

Monash is the gateway to Melbourne’s southeast, with a population of about 1.5 million people. With many people needing a home built, it’s not surprising Monash is at the forefront of Melbourne municipalities and boasts the largest number of head offices of major residential building companies in Victoria.

All four firms are award-winning builders, with Metricon recognised by the Housing Industry Association (HIA) as Australia’s top home builder for the fifth year in a row.

Established in 1976, Metricon has offices, showrooms and display homes in Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales and Queensland. Its inspiration and design centre, the Studio M showroom, is at its Victorian head office at 501 Blackburn Road, Mount Waverley.

In 2019, Carlisle Homes celebrated 15 years of building homes across Melbourne and Geelong. Having completed more than 10,000 homes, the firm has evolved to become a market leader in new home building, and has won awards including Victoria’s Professional Major Builder (2020) and No.1 builder for customer service (2013-16).

Henley Homes, based in Ferntree Gully Road, Mount Waverley, is recognised for its Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal charity homes, with the company donating more than $13.2 million and 37 homes over 24 years. The firm, now in partnership with Sumitomo Forestry Group, is sustainably building more than 10,000 homes across Australia, USA and Asia every year.

Dennis Family Homes’ designs have all been awarded six-star energy ratings in Victoria and comply with the Basix (Building Sustainability Index) initiative in NSW. The signature of homes built by the Notting Hill-based firm is sustainable energy efficiency, and all its homes are designed to include efficient heating, cooling and lighting solutions.

Council is proud these leading building companies, and the hundreds of employees who work for them, call Monash home.
