LGBTIQA+ Community Leadership

Criteria

This award recognises outstanding achievement by an individual, organisation, agency service provider, group or business who has strengthened the representation and inclusion of people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, queer/questioning and asexual communities (LGBTIQA+) within Monash.

This category recognises the following:

  • The nominee either lives, works or studies in Monash, or contributes to the Monash community
  • A nominee can be recognised for paid or volunteer contributions, however it is noted that extra dedication is required to undertake volunteer work
  • Nominations can be made for one-off contributions, although consistent involvement or dedication may be held in higher regard

This award will be presented to a nominee who:

  • Has made a substantial or ongoing contribution towards strengthening the representation visibility and inclusion of the Monash LGBTIQA+ communities in Monash
  • Has demonstrated leadership and advocacy as part of, or for, the LGBTIQA+ communities
  • Implemented policies and/or programs which take into account the needs of the Monash LGBTIQA+ communities in Monash
  • Is a local champion who has positively impacted others in the community and/or their organisation
