The Australian Breastfeeding Association (ABA) encourages, educates and supports breastfeeding women and their families. This community service is offered by voluntary, trained breastfeeding counsellors. The Association offers a 24 hour breastfeeding helpline 1800 mum2mum, counselling via group discussion meetings and morning coffees. Breastpump hire is also available. Counsellors are available for community education talks to health professions, hospitals, schools and community groups. Regular breastfeeding education classes are held for pregnant parents.
The ABA Waverley branch runs meetings on the first and third Wednesday of each month during the school term at Mackie Rd Neighbourhood House in Mulgrave. These are a mixture of social meetings and parenting related topics and we encourage members and guests to attend with any questions they might have.
