Electra Community Centre

Electra Community Centre - Exterior

The Electra Community Centre provides non-traditional sports that cater for a range of life and age groups within the Monash community.

The multi-purpose facility is now home to the Waverley Bridge Club, Ceres Calisthenics Club, Monash Croquet Club and the Doberman and Dog Obedience Club.

The centre provides a common kitchen area, an open seating area and accessible amenities.

Not available for hire. Please see: Halls for Hire

The environmental impact of the Electra Community Centre has been the forefront of the building and design.

Electra provides air conditioning by a smart building management system that allows the building to naturally aspirate by automatically opening the windows dependant of the outside temperature. Energy efficient fluorescent lighting is controlled by movement sensors and turn on and off accordingly as well as rain water being harvested for toilet flushing and garden irrigation.

These measures contribute to a more efficient use of power and natural resources. Electra Community Centre was the winner of the 'Design, Development and Management Award for Leisure Facilities' at the 2010 Parks and Leisure Australia National Awards of Excellence 2010 in Adelaide.
