Step into a world of warmth and connection at our Halcyon Positive Ageing Centre located in Glen Waverley. Our program is designed to cater for Monash residents who are experiencing the early stages of cognitive impairment while offering respite for their carers.

What you need to know

  • Participants must be registered with My Aged Care.
  • The program is held in a safe, welcoming and home-like environment amid the picturesque Glen Waverley Golf Course.
  • Halcyon is run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
  • A fee does apply and covers program amenities such as morning tea and activities.
  • While members are encouraged to arrange their own transportation, it can be provided on request, subject to availability.

Social activities

Qualified staff and volunteers facilitate an array of social activities, including:

  • exercise to music
  • sensory experiences
  • reminiscing
  • gardening
  • trivia and quizzes
  • cultural celebrations
  • arts and crafts
  • entertaining performances

My Aged Care - how to apply

This social inclusion program is offered through the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).

To access this program, individuals aged 65 or over can start by registering with My Aged Care and requesting a social group referral with City of Monash.

Contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 or visit myagedcare.gov.au to begin your journey.

After registering, My Aged Care will guide you through a series of questions to assess your specific needs. Subsequently, a referral will be forwarded to the Regional Assessment Service (RAS). RAS will schedule a visit with a Home Support Assessor. During this visit, you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your requirements and the services that best cater to your needs.
