We have made some exciting changes to the Glen Waverley library forecourt to make it a more welcoming and inviting space for our community.

The improvement works have included:

  • Installation of synthetic turf to create a more attractive space
  • Bright directional signage applied to pavers to draw people into and through the space
  • Pruning and tidying up of garden beds
  • Removal of hedges and conifers to provide greater visibility and connection in the outdoor space

The works follow previous upgrades in the forecourt which included:

  • Outdoor umbrellas
  • Cafe-style furniture with swivel seats
  • A ping-pong table that is available for free public use during warmer months – library staff can provide paddles and balls.

The changes have created a space for small events and activities, and a place for people to take some time out in their day. The installations are removable to make space for bigger events when needed.

These refurbishments have been popular, with people enjoying time eating at the tables and meeting up with friends and work colleagues.

We hope the works will encourage the community to linger in the forecourt space and enjoy the amenity.
