Dandenong Creek Trail

The Dandenong Creek Trail spans 44km and connects with Scotchmans Creek Trail at Jells Park. Most sections of the trail have a gravel surface.

There are 3 sections to the trail:

  • Upper Dandenong Creek – Heathmont to Jells Park
  • Middle Dandenong Creek – Jells Park to Dandenong
  • Lower Dandenong Creek - Dandenong to Patterson Lakes

The 11km Monash section of the trail starts at the eastern end of Highbury Road and heads south towards Jells Park. You will pass the Bushy Park wetlands, a bird hide, Drummies Bridge Reserve and under High Street Road into Napier Park. The trail then takes you through the natural conservation area of Shepherds Bush.

As you continue, the trail connects to the western end of the Blind Creek Trail. It then heads south towards Jells Park where the Scotchmans Creek Trail starts at the southwest end of the park.

South of Ferntree Gully Road, the trail passes through the Corhanwarrabul Wetlands and Mulgrave Reserve to the Wellington Road underpass.

It then travels past more wetlands before connecting to the south section of the Eastlink Trail near Police Road.

The trail then heads southeast towards Dandenong and Patterson Lakes.
