Play Like a Girl Program

Play Like a Girl Scholarship Graphic

We're pleased to announce the introduction of a scholarship opportunity for seven local girls or women (including trans-women and gender-diverse) to take part in the ‘Play like a Girl’ program.

Play Like a Girl is the first leadership development program in Australia to guide the personal and professional journey of girls through a sports lens. Its flagship program gives participants a five-step blueprint to building a toolbox of mindset and self-belief strategies that can be used in any arena where you want to make your mark. As well as relatable and easily implementable content, it provides a valuable community for participants to discuss struggles and triumphs in a safe space with like-minded peers. Play Like a Girl teaches you how to prepare well off-field so you can play to your full potential when it counts.

Council's investment will enable members of our diverse community to gain the skills, information and self-confidence needed to thrive in sport and life. Selected applicants will take part in a 5-week program throughout September and October 2022.

Applications for the scholarship opportunity will open on Monday 4 July 2022 and will close on Sunday 31 July 2022. Selected participants will be announced on Tuesday 9 August 2022.
