WordFest 2022: Author Talk with Clem Bastow

Clem Bastow

Clem’s writing appears regularly in The Guardian, and she has written extensively for The Saturday Paper, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Big Issue. She holds a Master of Screenwriting from University of Melbourne/VCA, and teaches screenwriting at University of Melbourne.

Clem is currently undertaking a PhD in action cinema and screenwriting at RMIT University. Her debut nonfiction book, Late Bloomer: How an Autism Diagnosis Changed My Life was published in July 2021.

In this event Clem will touch on what inspired her to document her story, and why it is so important to challenge the broader cultural implications and ideas around autism, especially for women and gender-diverse people.
