When the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, Kamla Reddy - a member of the Monash Interfaith Group - used her initiative to start an online book club, called "The Intercultural High Tea Book Club". The program was aimed at bringing people together who were isolated, to encourage their love of reading and to promote empathy and understanding between people from a wide variety of cultures and faiths.
Kamla is an excellent facilitator, running each discussion in a warm, inclusive manner. Under her leadership, group members have enjoyed the opportunity to develop new friendships with people from different cultures and nationalities who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to meet.
