When we collect your hard waste

Monash Council provides a free hard waste collection annually, usually between July and September. Collections take place in a different part of Monash each week during the collection period. The next collection will run from July to September 2024.

Please note, hard waste collections are for residential properties only. Residents in apartment buildings may not get an annual hard waste collection – please check with your building’s facility manager before putting items out for collection.

Also, a brochure will be put in your letterbox about 2 weeks prior to the start of your collection with important information on what items can be put out, how to put your items out, and when your collection starts.

To keep Monash's streets as clean as possible, please don't put items on your nature strip until a couple of days before your collection.

You can also book an additional hard waste collection for a week that suits you. This collection is an extra service to your free hard waste collection. Costs apply and payment is required at the time of booking. For more information, please see Additional hard waste collection.
