Community Grants Program

Child and snake

The Monash Community Grants Program (MCGP) provides funding to support community groups and organisations to deliver projects, activities and events to strengthen, enhance and benefit the Monash community.

Local community groups and organisations are invited to submit applications for cash and in-kind funding to support programs, services, projects and events that take place between 1 July and 30 June each year.

We are always actively looking to support projects, activities and events from a diverse range of ages, cultures, abilities, gender identities, sexual orientations, and experiences. In particular, we encourage applications from groups and organisations working with and for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, LGBTIQA+ and culturally and linguistically diverse communities and people with disabilities.

The 2024/25 round of the Monash Community Grants Program is open and will close at 2pm on Friday 1 March 2024.

Support for Applicants

Applicant Information and Support Sessions

Council is offering sessions to provide a one-on-one opportunity for each group to meet with a member of the Monash Community Grants Program team to ensure you have the best chance of funding. It is important to check your eligibility and determine which category is the most appropriate to apply under. The grants team can also provide you with advice regarding your project and application. It is not essential for applicants to attend one of these workshops, but it is essential to at least speak to a member of the grants team about a proposed application.

These sessions will run for strictly one hour per group from 1-16 February 2024 and bookings are essential. Please book online at TryBooking.

Grant Budget Workshops

Grant Budget Workshops will be held on Tuesday 30 January 2024 and Wednesday 21 February 2024 to provide applicants with an opportunity to learn how to complete a project budget as part of their application to the MCGP.

Please book online at TryBooking

Grant Writing Workshops

Monash Council is holding two Effective Grant Writing Workshops, facilitated by Debby Marziarz, on Thursday 8 February 2024 and Tuesday 13 February 2024. These workshops will help applicants understand what is required to successfully apply for and acquit grants.

Please book online at TryBooking.
