Roaming Fitness Camp

Join us for a on-off roaming Fitness Camp session, showcasing different reserves and spaces around Monash.

Our next activation will take place at Freeway Reserve. Enjoy the outdoors and experience a new Monash reserve.

This session will work through a guided movement bodyweight outdoor gym circuit at your own pace.

Mayfield Tennis Club - Men's Social Tennis

Join us for a morning of weekly men’s social tennis hosted by Mayfield Park Tennis Club. Sessions are open to all males ages 14 and above.

Beginners and regular players welcome, no experience needed. These sessions are also wheelchair friendly.

Hangtime Basketball Community

Hangtime is an all-inclusive local basketball community that play social 'pick up' basketball games in the Bayside and Southeast suburbs.

We bring basketballers together by organising and playing self-referred, social full court games that don't require commitment to a team or full season and cater to all skill levels and abilities.

All games are fun, inclusive and purely social-focussed.

Walking Basketball

The Basketball Victoria initiative, Walking Basketball program is a low impact, social and fun way to improve the levels of physical activity for all ages, genders and abilities.

The program provides optimal health benefits to all who participate including those who might be intimidated by the pace and impact of a traditional basketball game but love the slower more social version of Walking Basketball.

Following the session, participants are invited to socialise in the Club Room with free coffee and morning tea provided by Waverley Basketball Association.

Standing meditation makes use of specific relaxed abdominal breathing, use of mental imagery, and awareness of the inside of your body.

Introducing 'Movers', Active Monash's circuit class to be enjoyed by those with a disability.

Come and experience our small group training session in a sensory studio

The classes will include a maximum of 6 people and will be run by trained instructors. This is to ensure each participant receives suitable guidance and instructions throughout the class.

A friendly class specifically designed for those with a disability to help individuals move and exercise in a safe and fun environment with numerous benefits.

Requirements: Please bring a drink bottle, mat and a towel to wipe down equipment after use

Clothing: Please wear clothing that is easy to move around in (e.g. track suit pants or leggings) and comfortable closed toe shoes (e.g. runners). We encourage having light clothing available as participants may become quite warm during class.

Carers and Support Workers are welcome and encouraged to attend classes. Please note, carers are not included in class spots and will not need to book for the class.

Dementia Friendly Group Class

A friendly class specifically designed for those with early-stage dementia to help individuals move and exercise in a safe and fun environment.

Led by experienced and qualified group exercise instructors, this class is engaging and fun. The class will work on improving functional strength, flexibility, and cognitive stimulation.

Exercising helps to prevent falls and maintains healthy mind, body and spirit. Other positive effects include improved mood, sleep, and quality of life.

Glen Waverley Pickleball

Come and try your hand at one of the most rapidly growing sports in Australia.

Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton and table tennis and Glen Waverley Bowls Club are now offering social play, court hire, and membership options.

No prior playing experience is needed, beginners welcome. All equipment will be provided by the club.

Glen Waverley Bowls Club are a friendly and supportive community of bowlers and pickleball players, who share a passion for the sport and a spirit of camaraderie.

Sports Locker

Open the locker and get active!

Borrow sports equipment for FREE from Oakleigh, Mugrave and Glen Waverley libraries to use at nearby sports facilities.

Equipment available to borrow

  • Oakleigh Library: soccer balls, AFL (Australian Rules) balls and frisbees
  • Mulgrave Library: soccer balls, basketballs, AFL (Australian Rules) balls and frisbees
  • Glen Waverley Library: table tennis (bats and balls)

Borrowing time: 4-hour limit

How to borrow: Simply leave a form of ID with the library branch, that you can collect when the equipment is returned and sanitised with wipes (provided). You'll also need to sign an agreement. Being a library member isn’t essential.

The Sports Locker program is available during library branch operating hours: Oakleigh LibraryMulgrave Library and Glen Waverley Library.

This program provides an opportunity for local families to ‘Participate Their Way’ by removing the cost of club membership, registration fees, uniforms and equipment, and utilising the libraries' systems to hire out sports equipment within Oakleigh, Mulgrave and Glen Waverley local areas.
