Zero tolerance for bullying, harassment and/or sexual harassment

Monash City Council (Council) has zero tolerance to instances of bullying, harassment and/or sexual harassment towards its employees.

Sexual harassment occurs when a person makes an unwelcome sexual advance, an unwelcome request for sexual favours or engages in any other unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature in relation to another person.

Council encourages employees to report incidents of bullying, harassment and/or sexual harassment.

Council will support the employee and take action appropriate to the circumstances. This may involve, but is not limited to, reporting the matter to the appropriate authority or imposing reasonable and proportionate restrictions, such as limiting access to Council facilities, to protect employees from harm.
