Leading Senior Constable Heath Williams is a Victoria Police Youth Resource Officer for the Monash area and, over the years, he’s had a huge impact on helping to address instances of racism against newly arrived culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) youth in local schools.
Heath has achieved this by conducting culturally sensitive presentations to primary and secondary students at local schools, promoting the idea that students take time to learn about their classmates’ cultures, backgrounds and journeys to Australia.
He’s managed to promote harmony and understanding among students by teaching them about Australian ‘mateship’ and encouraging an understanding of each other’s cultures.
Heath is also a Police Aboriginal Liaison Officer, working with Aboriginal families and key stakeholders in the Eastern Region.
