$800,000 from State Government for Caloola Reserve development

Council awarded the tender for the Caloola Reserve Multi-Sport pavilion in Atkinson Street (Oakleigh) to 2 Construct.
The multi-sport pavilion will be a shared facility with the Oakleigh and Oakleigh North tennis clubs, Monash City Football Club and the East Oakleigh and Oakleigh Cricket Club.
The works include:
- four change room pavilion and shared social space
- hot shots courts/basketball court
- pathways
- improved parking along Drummond Street
- park lighting
- landscaping and tree planting
- sports lighting.
The budget for the project is $3.5 million. The State Government has contributed $800,000 to the project.
The multi-sport pavilion is the second stage of a project to create a sports hub in this area of Oakleigh.
Stage 1 of the project saw the construction of eight new tennis courts. The second stage will include a new multi-sport pavilion, car parking and hot shot tennis courts/basketball half-court.
The project is an important one for Council, delivering on our commitment for flexible, sustainable, accessible and quality community facilities.
