The State Government has announced $4M in funding through Sport and Recreation Victoria for the upgrade and development of Jack Edwards Reserve, Oakleigh.

The funding will contribute toward achieving the Club’s vision of creating a new western pavilion and grandstand to enable the Club to continue competing in the Victorian National Premier League (NPL).

This project requires a significant investment and Council and the tenant club are working together to advocate to the Federal Government to provide funding to allow the project to move forward. Prior to the last election a $3M commitment was made by the Labor party.

Council is undertaking preliminary site investigation works and is also exploring other funding opportunities with Football Australia, Football Victoria and the club.

Any future decision on Council’s funding commitment would come before a Council meeting.
