I'm hoping I might be able to speak to you briefly about the state government's Future Homes program.

- If not, why did you decide not to be?
Response
In 2022 Monash Council decided not to take part in the Future Homes pilot program. The program had ambitious goals in terms of high quality design architecture and sustainability outcomes, but Council was seeking more details and a robust strategic process to identify the location of homes, including potential impacts, as well as targeted consultation with potentially affected and surrounding properties. We were also seeking greater involvement from other Councils so outcomes could be seen across a range of different areas.
