Council has refused an application for the construction of five dwellings on the land at 517 High Street Road, Mount Waverley.
The Permit applicant appealed Council's decision, and a Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) hearing is scheduled for 1 September 2021 via VCAT's online platform.
Formally amended plans have been circulated by the Permit applicant and are provided below.
The key changes include:
- Reduction of the number of dwellings from 5 to 4 townhouses and change in dwelling mix (for example, five triple-storey dwellings amended to three triple-storey dwellings and one double-storey dwelling)
- Dwellings 1 to 3 remain to be in reversed living layout and dwelling 4 to contain a more conventional layout with living and dining rooms on the ground level. Ground level private open space is provided at the rear of dwelling 4
- Changes to the layout and setbacks of the dwellings
- Removal of the vehicle passing bay area
- Garages setback to the western boundary increased from 5.19 to 5.5m
- Amended pedestrian walkway design
