Development Facilitation Service

  • Project typeLocal infrastructure
  • Project valueover $20 million

The Development Facilitation Service is a ‘one-stop shop’ for large-scale investment projects estimated to be over $20 million in value.

Purpose

The service helps developers and prospective investors invest in major projects in Monash prior to buying or leasing large, vacant land or existing premises.

Process

The process includes preliminary discussion with Council officers about the proposed use and/or development of a site. This may include reference to policy requirements, relevant approvals needed and likely timelines to be involved.

Should a property be subsequently acquired then the service helps with coordinated pre-application advice.

To minimise unnecessary time delays, once a planning application has been lodged it is then monitored regularly, and progress advice and assistance provided to applicants.
