It's time to switch: Green lid bins (food and garden waste) are collected weekly from August and red landfill bins every fortnight, to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill.
Due to Public Holidays (Thursday and Friday), calls will be directed to our after-hours service for follow-up from 5.15pm on Wednesday 21 September to 8.15am on Monday 26 September. Thank you for your understanding.
The Gardiners Creek Trail is an off-road shared pathway. It follows Gardiners Creek through Melbourne's eastern suburbs. The trail links the Blackburn Lakes to the Main Yarra Trail in Burnley.
The 20km off-road section of the trail starts at Blackburn Road just north of Heath Street, Blackburn. It passes through the Blackburn Creeklands Reserve, Gardiners Creek Reserve and a local history park before crossing into Monash at Highbury Road.
The trail passes through beautiful wetland areas where you can find ducks, birds and frogs. You will also travel through Gardiners, Ashwood, Jingella and Holmesglen reserves where a number of local sports grounds are located. The trail heads out of the municipality at the Warrigal Road underpass.
