Heat pumps at Monash Recreation and Aquatic Centre

Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre is advancing its sustainability efforts by transitioning from 2 gas boilers to 3 heat pumps and 2 condensing gas boilers as part of Council's carbon emission reduction plan. This strategic upgrade is aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, lowering operational costs, and aligns with the broader goal of reducing the facility's carbon footprint as per the Zero Net Carbon Action Plan.

By adopting heat pump technology as the main source of heating, the centre contributes to Council's leadership in sustainable practices. Utilising renewable energy generated on-site and also through our electricity retailer, the heat pumps achieve notable efficiency and environmental gains.

This project establishes the Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre as a leader in energy-smart aquatic centre practices.
