Alistair Pilley

Alistair joined the Rotary Club of Glen Waverley in 1995 and it was a life changing experience.

He became involved in a number of projects including the Club’s Millennium Project, building three emergency accommodation units in Glen Waverley to help mothers with a mental illness.

The positive rewards of that experience saw Alistair turn his attention to the devastating rise in male suicide.  Working with Council and the Waverley Lions Club, Alistair secured a facility for the Monash Men’s Shed.

Through his valuable work at the Monash Men’s Shed, Alistair continues to support men struggling to cope with grief, physical and mental health issues and social isolation.

At a time when many may think about winding back, Alistair continues to reach out and help others and is an example to all of leadership at any age.
